Bikes for refugees

House Project Oxford recently linked up with Cyclox ( local cycle charity) and the bikes for Refugees initiative. So far they have given us 3 bikes and accessories for our young people and more are planned. Out of about 30 of our young care leavers that we support to live independently about a 1/3 are refugees.

£1 million National Lottery boost to help 2000 more care leavers build independent lives and influence change
The National House Project has been awarded a £1 million grant from The National Lottery Community Fund to help 2,000 more care leavers secure homes, build independence, and shape services, expanding its proven support program across England, Scotland, and Wales while amplifying young people’s voices.

New Local House Project to launch in Cheshire East
Cheshire East is launching a new house project to support care leavers with skills, guidance, and community as they transition to independent living. The first programme starts May–August 2026.
